The Adventure Never Ends, It’s all about ‘Keep Moving’!!
The Adventure Never Ends, It’s all about ‘Keep Moving’!!

Achy joints , fatigue, belly fat, and the dreaded……………..Hot Flashes!!!!! Why, Oh Why, do we have to go through this as we reach that next level in our lives?? We end up going to the Dr for help but that usually ends up with medication in hand, or the gentle pat on the shoulder that ‘It will be ok just get through it!’ Will we? Will we though?

Ok so lets try something different. Let’s figure out the needs of your body! Yep lets take a look at the inner instruction manual and really understand how our body systems functions with the knowledge of your own genome. Understanding your own genes means that you can CHANGE Them!!!!! I did just say that ! Let me repeat CHANGE Them!!!! Genes are not your destiny , through shifting what you eat, how you exercise, environmental factors to name a few, can influence how you support hormone balance, detox, work with lessening inflammation to feel better, have more energy!!

As an example some key genes that impact menopause symptoms are:

  • COMT — estrogen metabolism & mood

  • CYP1A2 — metabolize caffeine & estrogens

  • MTHFR — detox & methylation

  • UGT1A1/GST— liver detox of hormones

  • NRF2 — inflammation & cell protection

These genes above play a large part of how the body works and processes. If you are not getting the right macro/micro nutrients that your body needs, you are deficient. Like with the MTHFR gene that turns genes ‘on and off’ to ‘work or don’t work ‘ then the system goes crazy!!

So the next question is , How do I influence epigenetic/lifestyle changes?? Here are some easy things to check off on your list to work on——

  • Eat cruciferous veggies, like broccoli, cauliflower, arugula, Fresh is always best!

  • Exercise is very important at this point in our lives, the system starts to slow down and get sluggish when processing, exercise helps to ramp things up especially the metabolism!

  • Prioritize sleep

  • Manage your stress like breath work, meditation, prayer, as we know stress contributes to inflammation

  • Reduce exposure to toxins like plastics, fragrances, dyes…….if You have a CYP1A2 gene that is sluggish in metabolizing / processing environmental toxins then again it increases inflammation

So, why do DNA Health Testing??? Easy to answer because knowing how your body operates stops the guessing games, stops medications that you probably don’t need, gives you ALL of the information to follow your optimal blueprint:

  • Know how you can clear estrogen (clear estrogen dominance propensity)

  • Understand how your system clears detox pathways

  • Targe nutrition + and supplements

  • Personalize YOUR menopause plan!
